This January, members of the Alcaidesa Property team ushered in the new year in harmony with nature, conducting a beach cleanup at the serene Alcaidesa beaches. Armed with the vision of a clean sea and beach – the team scoured the breathtaking coastline of San Roque and La Linea, diligently hunting for every piece of trash they could find.
The beauty and cleanliness of our beaches is evident, but a closer look sometimes reveals discarded items such as glass bottles, plastic or foam cups – a reminder of the growing waste problems plaguing our seas. Such issues are global, yet the solutions can be local, and we at Alcaidesa Property are firmly committed to being a part of the solution.
This clean-up operation saw us successfully discarding the waste found on the beach, ensuring that recyclable items were recycled, and other waste appropriately disposed of. Our goal is simple but monumental – to contribute to the ocean’s health and make trash-free seas and beaches a reality. For us, this cause hits close to home, as evidenced by unnerving statistics such as plastic being found in 62% of all seabirds. This encouraged us to support Ocean Conservancy, a nonprofit environmental advocacy group committed to promoting healthy ocean ecosystems and combating marine pollution. In 2023, Alcaidesa’s La Hacienda golf course was recognized as Spain’s best golf course, and we want our nearby beaches to reflect similar excellence. At Alcaidesa Property, we value giving back to our community. Being stewards of our local environment and community is a core value.
