Every year, some of the world’s most talented amateur golfers gather at the Real Club de Golf Sotogrande to compete in the prestigious Copa Sotogrande, also known as the European Nations Cup.
In 2025, the tournament returns from March 26-29, promising another thrilling competition on one of Spain’s most iconic golf courses.
A Tournament with a Rich Legacy
The tournament’s roots date back to the Jerez Cup in 1970, evolving into today’s European Nations Cup. Over the years, it has hosted young talents who later became international golf stars, including Sergio García, Rory McIlroy, Padraig Harrington, and Francesco Molinari.
The Competition Format
The event follows a 72-hole stroke play format over four days. Each national team consists of four players, with the three best daily scores counting towards the team total. In the case of a tie, a sudden-death playoff determines the winner.
